Victorian Necklace, Circa 1865, with a handmade amethyst gemstone cameo mounted in 14 K yellow gold.  The pendant measures 2.3 X 3 cm.  The beautifully carved cameo is bezel set and measures 1.5 x 2.1 cm.  Carved gemstone cameos are very rare, especially when representing male figures.  This cameo represents a soldier, possibly Paris or Achilles of Greek mythology.  The handmade 14 K gold chain is 48 cm in length (approximately 19 inches).
